Terms of Service

1. What this is

AUBuySellTrade ("the Service", "we") is a marketplace and events board for students at Amsterdam University College. It lets students post and browse listings, request bike rentals, post "looking for" requests, publish campus events, and play a small price-guessing game. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

2. Who can use it

AUBuySellTrade is intended for current students and members of the AUC community. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

3. Peer-to-peer

We do not process payments or act as a party to any transaction. Buyers and sellers arrange payment and pickup directly with each other, in person, at their own risk. We are not responsible for the condition, legality, quality, or safety of any item, rental, or event listed by users.

4. Your content, your responsibility

You're responsible for anything you post — listings, event details, messages, photos, and profile information. By posting, you confirm you have the right to sell or offer what you're listing and that your content doesn't violate any law or these terms. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, without notice.

5. Not allowed

• Illegal items, services, or content (including counterfeit goods)
• Weapons, drugs, alcohol, or age-restricted items
• Fraud, scams, or misleading listings
• Harassment, hate speech, or threats toward other users
• Spam, or posting purely to flood the marketplace or events board
• Impersonating another person or organization

Any listing, event, or user can be reported from its page. Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal or account suspension.

6. Ratings and streaks

After a completed purchase or rental, both sides can leave a star rating. Ratings are shown on public profile pages. Streaks, achievements, and leaderboard scores are for fun and have no monetary value.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including disputes, losses, or harm arising from a transaction, rental, or meeting arranged through it.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves (for example, if paid features are introduced later). We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the update.
